The balancing act. . .

I am actively seeking representation for my literary and nonfiction writing, and I find it hard to present myself with the appropriate amount of humility and pride. On one hand, I have to be proud of my work, my style, and the inherent potential for agents. On the other, I have to be myself: Humble. I struggle to see myself as great or "special," but I do think that my work should reach a broad audience. This is the same part of being a performing musician that I disliked. When I represent myself, I have to display the right balance of pride in my art and how I have a unique gift, but the real "Sky" is just a vehicle. Once I started working with an agent, I enjoyed the work more, because I took the business out of it.

Fact is: I love to write. . . I wish someone would take a chance. . .
